Medication Policy
Please be aware that I am not a physician and therefore not
licensed to prescribe medication or offer medical/medication
advice with the intention of changing any medical/medication
treatment plan as prescribed by your physician. The course
of our treatment plan however, frequently requires us to discuss
medication. I have educated myself and have a wide exposure
to many different medical/medication approaches.
THE INFORMATION I PROVIDE IS FOR "EDUCATIONAL
PURPOSES ONLY."
I am in the unique position to observe as many as 30 different
medication protocols of local and nationally renowned physicians.
I also monitor numerous sources
of “State of the Art” research from Psychopharmacology journals
and newsletters. Antidotal information, treatment and medication protocol
from leading institutes such as John Hopkins, Boston Children’s Hospital,
Harvard University, Duke University, University Of Pennsylvania and City
of Hope Hospital are adapted into my sub-specialty practice. I frequent their
sub-specialty conferences and in some cases have direct contact with National
figures that are considered the world authorities in the Neuro-Developmental
and Behavioral Disorders that are my specialty.
It is part of my responsibility and obligation as a Professional
Clinical Social Worker to share this knowledge and experience
with you as my client. I offer you this information and experience
to educate you so that you can be informed to advocate for
yourself or your child with your physician. This process
enables you to be an active participant with your physician
in developing a treatment plan that is proactive. The information
and knowledge that I share with you should never be interpreted
as a treatment plan eliminating the participation of your
physician, and it is for educational purposes only.
NEVER MAKE CHANGES WITHOUT DISCUSSING IT WITH YOUR PHYSICIAN
